Flourish and Alignment
There’s something about this time of year that always makes me stop and take a breath.
The air feels different, lighter somehow and the land begins to wake again after the stillness of winter. Buds appear, the sun lingers a little longer in the evening, and there’s this quiet invitation to shift, to stretch, to grow.
For me, spring isn’t about rushing forward into everything at once. It’s about alignment. It’s about checking in with myself and asking: Am I moving in the direction that feels true? Am I creating from a place of balance? Because flourishing, I’ve realised, isn’t about how much we do or how fast we move. It’s about how aligned we are while we’re doing it.
The taonga and gemstones I’ve been sitting with lately have been such gentle reminders of that.
Pounamu, especially the Mana Tāne designs, always feels grounding to me.
There’s a strength to them - a sense of protection and steadiness. When life is busy or the seasons feel like they’re pulling me in every direction, wearing Mana Tāne is like planting my feet back on the whenua and remembering that growth needs strong roots.
Amethyst has been another constant presence.
It carries such a calm, clear energy - the kind that helps me quiet the noise and come back to myself.
For me, it’s the stone that whispers: pause, breathe, listen. It inspires me to align my actions with what really matters, rather than scattering my energy everywhere.
And then there’s Fluorite, which always makes me smile.
It has this way of tidying up the mind, like opening the windows and letting fresh air in.
It’s the clarity stone, the one that reminds me that I don’t need to hold everything at once. Flourishing sometimes comes from focus - from giving myself permission to let go of the distractions and pour my energy where it will grow best.
“To flourish is not only to grow, but to align.”
The Spring Equinox, with its balance of light and dark, feels like the perfect mirror for all of this. Nature itself pauses in alignment, reminding us that balance is part of the rhythm of life. Day and night, stillness and growth, grounding and expansion - each has its place, and together they create harmony.
This season, I’m choosing to see flourishing not as “more,” but as “aligned.”
To grow from a place of balance. To create with clarity. To walk with strength. And to trust that when I’m aligned, everything else has a way of unfolding in its own time.
